Argentina is the top-seeded team in Group A of the Copa America 2024. Copa America will start 20th June to 14th July 2024.
Lionel Scaloni’s South American and world champions are the favorites to win the tournament outright and are expected to breeze through the group stage.
Peru, Chile, and either Canada or Trinidad and Tobago will be their opponents, with the two CONCACAF nations competing in a March playoff to determine who will play in the Copa America.
The Copa America final will be held in Miami on July 14, 2024, following a month-long competition in the United States.

2024 Copa America Group A : Table, standings
Each Copa America group has four teams. In a round-robin format, each of these teams plays the other once. Each group’s top two players will move on to the quarterfinals.
Teams are ranked first by points, then by goal difference, and finally by goals scored. If teams are tied on all three criteria, the head-to-head record between those countries is used as a tiebreaker.

Argentina
Argentina was one of the top-seeded teams automatically assigned to Group A before the draw because they were the reigning champions.
The Albiceleste, last year’s FIFA World Cup winners, have had one of their best periods in modern football since Lionel Scaloni took over following the disappointment of World Cup 2018.
The former defender led Argentina to a Copa America final victory over archrivals Brazil in 2021, ending their 28-year wait for a major trophy, and they followed that up by winning the Finalissima — the match between South American and European champions — 3-0 against Italy at Wembley in June 2022.

Peru enters the tournament in 2024 with a desire to avenge their 2019 final loss to Brazil.
Despite being ranked 35th in the world and 6th in CONMEBOL as of November 2023, Juan Reynoso’s team is looking ahead to next summer.
Peru, with two Copa America titles and 18 previous appearances, can learn from their previous defeat and demonstrate improvement. Reynoso, who has been in charge since August 2022, has struggled in recent games, with the team going winless in their last seven.
The team has a mix of experienced and emerging players and will be hoping to turn things around before the upcoming tournament.

Chile, more than any other country, is desperate for a positive showing at the tournament to stave off the looming demons. Chile’s national team future, like Mexico’s, is arguably precarious. Their back-to-back Copa America titles — the first in the country’s history — in 2015 and 2016 were supposed to signal their newfound status among South America’s elite,however everything collapsed in a spectacular way.
They failed to qualify for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, and despite the expansion of the field, they now sit outside of a qualifying position in the 2026 standings. The latest setback, a solitary point from games against Paraguay and Ecuador in which they failed to score a goal, resulted in the sacking of the coach and the installation of interim Nicolas Cordova.
Chile, once brimming with promising talent, now has a porous squad devoid of any prominent players other than Inter star Alexis Sanchez. Veterans such as Gary Medel, Arturo Vidal, and Charles Aranguiz have begun to retire, but no one has proven capable of replacing them. They desperately need a spark, but they may be in for another letdown as the slide threatens to drag on forever.
