23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides passed away on Friday night after becoming ill during singer Taylor Swift’s performance at Rio de Janeiro’s Nilton Santos stadium, where she made her Brazilian tour debut in front of more than 60,000 fans.

Estela Benevides, Benevides’ cousin, verified the information to Folha over the phone from the physician who attempted to revive her. After fainting and receiving care at the stadium, the young woman, who was originally from Sonora, Mato Grosso do Sul, was sent to the Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital .Taylor Swift’s fan death was cardiac arrest.
Benevides, who was in the front row, immediately passed out. Benevides’ friend and nurse Thiago Fernandes, 22, claims that she was revived at the stadium for roughly forty minutes. She went into another cardiac arrest while travelling to the hospital.
Arriving at around 8 p.m., Benevides received medical attention but ultimately died at the hospital near Engenhão in Méier, in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro.
Firefighters unofficially reported that a thousand people had fainted during the event, and the venue’s heat index hit sixty degrees Celsius. Given the extreme heat, fans took to social media to voice their displeasure with the stadium’s ban on water bottle use.
Folha received a letter from Fernandes saying, “I want Ana to appear on the Taylor show screens.”
He expressed his grief for the young woman’s passing on Instagram. “I can’t believe you’re no longer here with us. I find it inacceptable,” he wrote. We spoke about this show and how much I wanted to be with you all the time. I’m at a loss for what to do because I’m so down . Among my oldest friends was you. Forever afterward, only in recollections ! Now hopefully you’re all right. “Relax!”
Benevides was a psychology student at the Federal University of Rondonópolis (UFR) in Mato Grosso, according to her social media profile. She was a director of the university’s athletic department, which also released a statement lamenting her passing.

Firefighters said that during the night, as her “Eras Tour” arrived in the city, about a thousand fans passed out from the intense heat. Despite this, enthusiastic fans persisted in their desire to see the American singer up close.
The concert’s fire brigade reported that individuals who also vomited from the heat were helped, which led to a serious case of dehydration for everyone in attendance.
Before travelling to Brazil, Swift performed at a concert in Argentina, which was also impacted by bad weather. The show that was supposed to happen on November 10th actually took place on Sunday the 12th due to a powerful storm.
