“Zahara Marley Jolie,” Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter exclaimed as she identified herself at this week’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction ceremony.
In the introduction, the 18-year-old conspicuously omitted the second part of her last name, as if to disparage Brad Pitt, according to Page Six.
Social media users used Twitter to draw attention to the alleged diss.
“Oh Zahara said her last name is Jolie, not Jolie-Pitt,” another person said.
“Single” mother Jolie was praised by the fan, who gushed, “We love to see Zahara shouting her last name, ‘Jolie,’ with all her might and stopping.”
Some cited earlier reports from Us Weekly asserting that Maddox, the 22-year-old son of the ex-couple, “doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie.”
A third user said that the actor “deserved a mention” at the historic moment.
“Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support,” the insider claimed in 2021.
Jolie, 48, and Brad Pitt, 59, had four other children together: Pax, 19, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15. They were together from 2005 until their separation in 2016.
Even though the ex-couples were officially declared single in 2019, their custody battle has not yet been resolved.
Details regarding the alleged private jet incident that aided in the dissolution of their marriage surfaced in 2022 as their divorce proceedings progressed.
The Fury star allegedly “choked one of the children and struck another in the face” during the altercation, according to Jolie’s attorneys.
But, a source told Page Six in 2022 that the FBI was not anticipated to reopen the case after previously looking into it “thoroughly” and deciding “not to bring any charges” against Pitt.
The source continued by labeling Jolie’s assertions as a “smear campaign” directed at her former spouse.
The Emmy winner hasn’t discussed the incident in public, but in recent years, he has made a few infrequent remarks regarding his children.
